    gday,

Just wondering about these VT S pack commodores. What are the main differences between just a standard executive?. Are the engines any more powerfull as I'v herd that come with a 190kw engine?

    thanks, Simon

S pak is an exec with an SS bodykit albeit smaller spoiler and smaller than SS mags. Same supension as the SS, same motor as the exec too. I suspect the exec is lighter due to less **** hanging off it

i was faced with the decision of buying a VT S or a VT exec, both manual, but the exec had 70,000kms on the clock compared to 160,000kms. I weighed up the fact that the exec didnt have sports suspension, power windows, cd player, 16" rims. it all depends on what you are going to do with the car. i knew i would buy different mags, lower it, get a better cd player so buying the exec doesnt seem that bad if your going to "do it up". so i went with the executive as the "extras" on the S pack i was only going to replace

good point mate, I love the interior of the s packs and also the body kits on em. But yeah all the other points you made out are true ill be relacing most of the "extras" anyway. just gotta wight up the benefits of the interious and body kit against everything else

plenty of info on that page.

There is something about the look of a standard s, i like. I like the interior of the s series one. and the body kit and the whole factory feel to it.

Just to be clear on the power, the exec and the s manual will have exactly the same power stock, as the supercharged model wasn't available in manual.

You can get leather look interior kits from ebay for around $600-$700 including door trim material. With a slight additional cost to fit (if done professionally) and you've got a VT Exec with leather look interior. Nice.

The only thing I want in my Exec is power windows.... :(

I would find it hard to go without my sunroof, and cruise control! I've half hooked up the steering wheel controls, and once that is done I will wonder why i didn't do it sooner!

If you put another S on the end of VT S and add a mod good for 5kw.. then yes... it will come with 190kw.

BUT, the VT S pack with the ecotec (N/A) has 147kw. Not even 150 like someone else said... the VX ecotec onwards had 152kw though.

Other than that, you get a kit, FE2 and some electic goodies inside.

    here's a minor tip:

You can tell a genuine S or SS because it doesn't have a high mount stop light in the rear window as its in the wing. The glass is actually blacked out. The light is in the wing (of course!)

On 'look-a-likes' they often have the high mount stop light in the window (some times its just disconnected.

One thing that gets me about the execs that get done up is the mirrors. Please please please paint the mirrors the same colour as the car...

Also this post made me think does changing your suspension help you get power to the road better? When a car is strapped to a dyno they basically take the suspension travel out of the equation by compressing the suspension, don't they? So does a s or ss get more traction off the line in real world situations, or does the give in the softer exec help with launch? The big advantage in firmer suspension is cornering and changing direction right? Obiviously the OP said he would change this anyway if buying an exec, so my question is reallly theoretical...
