Hey trying to replace the rear shocks in my VT sedan but I can not for the life of me undo the lower nut on the shock any ideas??
Are talking about the top nut inside the car. If so and you have rounded off the square bit above the nut, try this. Jack up the car and place on stands under the sills so that the axles fall down to ther lowest point. Then with your boot open and a spanner on the nut, try and hold the body of the shock with your hand while turning the nut on top. If it is the bottom nut, firstly soak thread in WD40 or alike, then make sure you are going in the right direction and if that is correct use a breaker bar with a length of pipe on the bar. Lastly good luck.
Try sticking a trolley jack on the opposite end if the ring spanner and jack the spanner up to loosen the nut .As surfwagon said make sure you are turning it in the right direction
use a skinny breaker bar and a jack handle. they come off with some leverage. Getting the shock off its mount when the bolt is out will be your next problem.
