    Hi All,

I have a 99 VT Senator Signature II and I have an issue with the steering I just can't figure out.

    Fault:
On full lock the stops on the stub axle do not touch. Instead the tie rod end grinds against front rims!

    Things to note:
I have replaced the power steering pump
Fitted castor/radius/z-bar bushes with 1 deg positive caster
Power steering rack is leaking (speed sensitive rack)
    No accident history

What could it possibly be? I highly doubt it's the caster bushes or the pump but I am interested if anyone has ever come across this.

    Thank you for you time/help.

does it make the grinding noise in one direction or hard lock both ways?

You dont say if you are running original offset alloys, or do you have aftermarket wheels ?

Thank you for the advice Ethan.. And it's 'hard lock' on both ways.. but it should hit the stop on the stub axle.. such a bastard (more excuse to get some bigger wheels)

    CONROD; factory 17" alloys.

If anyone has come across anything like this it would be very helpful. But regardless, it will get fixed and I will update just incase someone may have this same issue.

    1. Can you confirm whether or not you had this problem before you fitted the radius rod bushes?
    2. When you say that the stops on the stub axle don't touch, is this because they are offset too far forward or to the rear and miss each other?

I cannot confirm, will however have a look this weekend and update.

Again, once diagnosed, will display results to assist anyone else.
