Hey guys how are we all?

just signed up today after years of lurking :p... now cut to the chase.

my missus's owns a horrible vt commodore ( v6 ) it has been nothing but trouble..
we took it too the mechanic and got it quoted for a new power steering pump, and he started right away ended up that it was just the O-ring being worn.
now initially he quoted us $345+$85 p/h for labour ( reckons it'd take 2 hours but ####ing bullshit ) anyways.

he then rang us about 20 minutes after we dropped the thing off and tells us " hey guys just ringing to let you know you got out of this one clean no pump was need just a new o-ring. i was over joyed at the thought of saving money, heres the killer...we picked it up about 1 hour after leaving it and as we walk to the counter the prick turns around and says " 2 hours labour + 345 for the new pump 515 thanks " i hit the ####ing roof...ended up getting it down to just $85 for the labour ( he didnt charge for the o ring how generous ) but 85 bucks for 20minutes work? pull the other one.. so to save myself the pain in advance.. does anyone at all know what size O-Ring you need to re-seal the highpressure hose back into the pump? ill just do it my self next time :D

    thanks everyone

Just go to Holden and tell them which O ring you want and you will get the correct one and I'm sure it won't be too expensive either.

You can buy seal kits for these pumps for around $10 on ebay. They are easy to rebuild yourself too. The main problem with these pumps is not wear etc, its the seals, they get old, go hard and leak.
