hey guys, i replaced my diff a while back having blown it up and when i put it all back together the abs light came on, my mate said it could be due to the abs
sensor being to far away from the wheel speed sensor.

what distance should it be between the sensor and the wheel speed sensor? and what could happen having had it not operating for so long?

    cheers,

    chris

ABS sensor air gap - 0.13 to 1.0mm.

Edit: Sorry, these are the figures for a VS Commodore. Can't find the equivalent info for a VT.

What I suggest you do is display the ABS error codes that have been set. You will need to connect pins 5 and 12 on the OBD diagnostic connector and count the number of times the ABS light flashes between pauses. This is similar to how you display the engine/trans error codes. That will tell you specifically what is wrong with the ABS.

The above assumes that you have a VT1 SS (ie. Holden 5l engine) and not a VT2 (LS1 5.7l engine).
