I'm having a very similar problem with my '99 VT II. I've just recently had to have a recon'd head put in due to overheating so I'm trying to get on top of this asap.

Only happens for me in park or in drive idling. Sorta feels like its choking...

Anyone else had any issues like this??

I don't know if this is similar but I have a 2001 WH Statesman V6 and at idle it gets a vibration through the car. You can feel it through the steering wheel, seats, etc. Its not worn engine mounts because I have already checked them. While driving the car, its perfect. Just idling. And also when I put it in drive it gets worse.

feels somethin like a lumpy cam at idle but its fine under load?

if so there is a 90 degree bend vacume hose which is under the throttle body check if it feeds onto another hose which runs under the plenum chamber then to the fire wall. re-connect it and it should fix the problem.

edit: for a v6 ecotech
also this is the only problem i hav encounted so for but like db_notso said there can be numerious problems

vt v6, mods(susp brakesetc...)
well ALL of you, a surge at idle in a an automoatic could be many things.
my best guess would be a vacum leak AFTER the air flow meter...
like on v6 the hoses under the throttle body to the back of the inlet manifold..
v8 the rocker cover evap hose rh top motor??? (damn memory)

if an engine light is on check this first...... e.g. afm or cas or temp sensor issue etc etc
if no engine light check you have oil (engine and auto) at correct level
and vacum leaks if still doing silly things ONLY at idle
clean the throttle body and IAC motor (unscrew it clean with carby cleaner near your throttle body and its the bigger bit hanging of it)

if no vacum leaks and throttle ok and no codes and IAC is ok i would guess its either bad fuel or or a worn engine....
other words have it checked by a professional./.,....

good luck~!

Could be a problem with your Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Have you checked to see if any error codes have been logged?
