VT V6 Acceleration mods?

Hey i'm 17 just about to get my p's and I've noticed my car is a slug off the mark. My brothers car is a VX berlina with some sort of exhaust mod I figure because it screams like a tornado when he gives it some beans But gets him off the line very quickly. So I'm looking for mods that would just help acceleration just shout me some ideas I guess

Quick cars can put you in the **** fast even a locked diff is a different driving style to normal diff gears
Maybe Drive it for a year then do what you want to it , no use having a car that goes like a banshee without much experience driving it and correcting it if it goes pear shaped
It might be slow but it's better than ending up in the wreckers dinged to ****

Keep your VT serviced and tidy , new plugs and leads can do wonders as well .
