VT V6 - Coolant in engine oil?

Well, a couple of weeks later and all is fine.
No further loss of coolant & engine oil not rising.

Glad I didn't rip the heads off. :)
Good to see it all worked out for you.

looking at teh gasket, its blown at both water jackets. Dont run coolant for first week or so, just water, then flush and change to coolant (this allows gaskets to settle as coolant can go places water cannot eg. small scratches). Change oil as well, to a good diesel oil to help clean it up.

I seem to have the same thing happing to my vy. coolant in the sump runs fine.
can anyone tell me when I take the valley cover off will the gaskets show where the breach took place or not

Not always, but its the most common failure point. Unusual for these things to have head problems. Intake gasket failure on the other hand, is common.
