    HI EVERYONE,
    I've just found a holden VT calais 3.8 lt supercharged MPFI 4 D with a 5sp box.
The guy has put a 5 sp box & clutch in it.
I have tried to lookup the VIN number but it doesn't match any on the just commodores homepage ?
    The VIN is 6H8VTX69SYL528686
i CAN FIND 6H8VTX69 BUT NOTHING FURTHER !
Is this a dodgy vehicle or a special build ????
If u can help, I would really appreciate it.

You only need to know the first 9 letters or numbers. The first letter or number is the region the car is made (6 is Oceania). The second letter or number in combination with the first letter or number tells you what country the vehicle was made (6H is Australia). The third letter or number is done by the manufacturer to identify what type of vehicle it is. The next 5 letters or numbers describe the vehicle such as engine type, model, style etc. (EG. VT is the engine type for your Holden VT, 6 may be the number of cylinders etc I don't really know).

The rest of the letters and numbers are simply a description of the vehicle and will probably be unique to that vehicle. Sort of like a unique ID to tell the vehicle apart from other vehicles of the same make and type. I mean you really don't want to have vehicles driving around with the exact same VIN.

Hello .. I have chevrolet lumina 2002 its equivaent to commodore vt i guess .. The problem is with the ac unit it was stuck to window vents till i found out how to change it manually to the face vents through the hoses back side the dash board .. Doing a bridge between the vaccum hose and one of the hoses there .. Thing is i cant get the air recycling to be inside the car i can smell exhausts coming from the cars infront all the time. Can any one help me with that ?!

People often ask what type of diff and ratio they have and there is often a lot of confusion
    this applies to VT VX
My exec came fitted with factory LSD i never knew until recently

    AXLE (Rear Axle / Diff Ratio) GU4 - 3.08:1 GU7 - 2.78:1 GU8 - 3.90

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You have just replied to a 8 year old post......

Please refrain from digging up old threads/posts unless you have something important to add. Those pallets do cause some issues but what that poster described is a classic symptom of stuffed head gaskets allowing oil into the cooling system. Common problem unfortunately (but you know that right ;) ).
