You only need to know the first 9 letters or numbers. The first letter or number is the region the car is made (6 is Oceania). The second letter or number in combination with the first letter or number tells you what country the vehicle was made (6H is Australia). The third letter or number is done by the manufacturer to identify what type of vehicle it is. The next 5 letters or numbers describe the vehicle such as engine type, model, style etc. (EG. VT is the engine type for your Holden VT, 6 may be the number of cylinders etc I don't really know).HI EVERYONE,
I've just found a holden VT calais 3.8 lt supercharged MPFI 4 D with a 5sp box.
The guy has put a 5 sp box & clutch in it.
I have tried to lookup the VIN number but it doesn't match any on the just commodores homepage ?
The VIN is 6H8VTX69SYL528686
i CAN FIND 6H8VTX69 BUT NOTHING FURTHER !
Is this a dodgy vehicle or a special build ????
