Had a few issues with the car dying while highway driving over the past few days, after a few minutes wait the car would start and continue driving.
Leaving for work this morning it died half way out onto the street and would not start.
Fuel pump is priming, when i tried kicking it over there was sparking coming from the ground under the passenger side exhaust manifold.

Anyone have any ideas what could be going on? Cas was recently changed too

First thing I'd check is that ground wire, undo it, clean it up and refit it.

issue continued, now the car won't turn over at all, had a new key made up as that seemed to die at the same time, however no luck. Starter shot?

Bridged the starter relay and its cranked over, trier purchasing a new relay and when I kicked it over, nice puff of smoke from fuse box area. I am guessing i was sold the wrong relay, where do i go from here?

Maybe the solenoid power wire from the key was shorting out, test the fuses and switch over the starter relay.

Ant all the relays under the hood interchangeable? put your High beam relay in, Smoke will be your wire outer casing getting hot.. Sometimes things should be left to experts..

Make sure all the relative earths are clean and tight. Clean battery terminals. Check the terminal on the cables.
