Vu commodore struts into a vh commodore

Hey guys
I was wondering if anyone has done a vu vy vx front suspension in a vh commodore as im doing a ls1 conversion and got a cheap parts car?

I have a vn v8 k frame and fitted the vu control arms and brakes with the vn caster rods and looks all good but the only hurdle i have is the diameter of the inner bering hole were the top Bering plate slides on the shock so im trying to figure out wat the best way i can do it

Any suggestions will be great

Cut the inner guard section out and fit the later commodore section in, where the bearing plate bolts.....
