Will need a little more information.... But my guess from your description would be blocked fuel filter ($15 easy replacement), and try and get a hold of a known working dfi module and coil towers from a wrecker or a friend and swap it over into yours and see if it fixes it.... If it does buy it or buy new (I recommend new), and if it doesn't give it back to the wreckers they're pretty good depending on where u go...

Other cheap checks, check for vacuum leaks you can use carby cleaner and spray all over all vac lines and if idle changes you know u got a problem, check for any discrepancies with injector pulsing (use a screw driver stethoscope), and if u have a fuel pressure gauge test the pressure at the rail.....

Is it the single catalytic converter type exhaust? a blocked or collapsed cat can do that.

Reading a couple of other threads i wont rule out the cat as it seems like it could be that is there anyway to check if its the catalytic converter?

Drop the exhaust off the back of the cat, shine a torch in there and look.
