Vu ute
Hi Guys, so I have a 2000 model vu Ute, had her for 6 months, a couple of weeks ago she lost all power while I was driving and then didn’t want to start for 10 minutes would wind over sounding like it was going to start but wouldn’t. 10 minutes later fired up first go. But has every now and then since then, she’ll conk out on me at random times. And other random times just won’t start. Has a new battery and alternator. Had it to 2 mechanics and of course it didn’t play up at both times, at a loss, don’t want to rebuild the whole car if it’s an easy fix

Sounds like classic crank angle sensor. Gets upset when it gets hot, cools down a bit and runs fine till the next time.

Even so, the total cut out while driving is indicative of the CAS. Could be the DFI but I would suspect more misfiring symptoms (you should still look at the condition of it and DFI plugs as above).
