VU Ute spare wheel whinch issue

G'day guys,

Just lowered the spare wheel on my ute and now it won't lock back in when I wind it up, it goes up but then just drops back down. I'm guessing the mechanism is screwed but thought I'd check to see if there is a quick fix before buying another one.

Probably full of dust and rust. Unbolt it from the body and have a look. May just need some TLC.
