Can anyone help me find the source of my speedo not working......the vehicle is a 2002 VU Ute, the problem started with the speedo behaving erratically at first, then it progressed to working sometimes and not others to now not working at all. I`ve replaced the VSS on the transmission (4L60e) but it made no difference. The transmission shifts fine, I understand that if the VSS is at fault the transmission does not shift as it does not know how fast the vehicle is travelling ? Also the cruise control works fine, I forgot to mention that the odometer is not adding any miles to the total.
My initial thought is that the VSS is talking to ECU as everything works apart from the speedo, the signal seems to get last between the ECU and the speedo, is there another module somewhere that is playing up ? if anyone out there can point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.
