If I fit the L99 VVT stuff to a VF Commodore L77 or LS3, is it just a tick box to enable VVT using HPTuners and populate the table(s) or will it be more complicated (eg need to switch to Camaro firmware or something)?

Cheers

Interesting question, I don't believe anyone (in the world) has done that - retrofit to a Holden - effectively using HP Tuners on e38.
But in context of EFIlive yes flag is boolean (needs wiring pinout of course).
Tricky part is enabling / tuning VVT spark and correcting the VVE map / coefficients at different phasing. OS and segment compatibility with Camaro L99 needs detail editing.
Eureka moment for my tune was adopting the GenV torque model coefficients.

I don't mind not having ignition or ve correction for vvt (actually i prefer not having it) as long as the VVT system is good at staying on target (which I hear it is). With open loop speed density tuning and no corrections for VVT, it's easy to see favourable valve timing by AFR being leaner. Also logging MAF helps just to be sure. Once optimal valve timing has been determined, just tune VE and timing and job done.

Torque model coefficients - Sounds confusing. I'm new to GM tuning and the more I read, the more I don't like it! Please tell me there is a simple valve timing table that's rpm x load.

Without VVT spark at least, gains are minimal if not counterproductive effort.

I'd obviously tune the full ignition table after tuning the VVT. Same end result.

Does anyone have a stock VFII LS3 hpt file for me to look at?
