Hi guys, a little history

Car had been running faultlessly, have owned car since new. Took car into tyre & battery place to get a new battery installed. While mechanic was changing battery the disconnected battery wire sprung back up and arked on the old batteries terminal. He installed new battery and car started first go.

Three weeks later, got into car, car cracked but did not start. Tried a few times with the same result. After @ a minute or so car started normally and done so for around 2 weeks when it did the same thing again. Same scenario after trying to start a few times, removed key, left for a minute, inserted key and car started first go like there wasn't a problem before.

Could the mechanic have spiked the engine computer or some other items that could inhibit the car from starting?

Cheers
Ken

Thanks for your reply. No I do not think it is the fuel pump. Fuel pump flows have been checked and filters cleaned recently.
The car does not appear to be starving for fuel at any other time.

Good chance it's the CAS (crank angle sensor). Mine did the same thing. It progressively got worse till my car wouldn't start and I had to get it towed.

Just behind the harmonic balancer it uses the little metal blades that are part of the balancer.
