    Hey guys

Got a vx s2 berlina here, having a lot of issue with the fuel gauge reading wrong, it sits on about half, that's how we know it's getting close, since we live out of town it has become quite an issue, running out of fuel etc, i've read a few things about fuel re calibration etc, alot of people are saying the way to do it for a 3 screen dash will be in the owners manual, evidently, it's not

I've held mode and left, and got fd80.fd (not sure if it holds any significance), mode and right, read a bunch of numbers i'm unsure of

The screen will also say 300+kms until empty and it's way out, found that one out the hard way

Is it most likely to be the sender unit? We do live down a dirt road..

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

I have the exact opposite issue thankfully.

I am nearing empty (100k to go) and have never been able to put in more than 50L (25L left). I believe mine to be a sender issue.

How many litres are you able to put in ? that could show if it's a guage/sensor sticking or another (sender) issue.

I ran out of fuel a few weeks ago in town (just around the corner from the servo thankfully) walked to the server and they lent me a 10l fuel drum, i put that in the car then drove to the servo and squeezed in 50l, it clicked at around 45l so i slowly fed the rest in

    what does that tell you?

i do have a feeling it's a sender issue, i'm just hoping more for an easy fix

You can only calibrate the fuel used mode in the trip computer, not where the fuel guage sits.

I usually go by that. My guage reads on E when it's only used 48 liters. Had it calibrated at holden, had a new sender put in under warranty and still no good. Typical VY guage.
