Hey guys, i own a Vx Acclaim V6 and recently when i accelerate off the lights i cant let the Rpm go any more than 2.5k-3k.
if i accelerate a little harder the car doesnt gain speed but the Rpm go up and sorta sounds a bit like missfire.
but when i ease of a little it will change to 2nd.
Not too sure about these things but i have a feeling its the Auto?

Help would be much appreciated guys! Advice? Diagnosis?

    Cheers fellas.

Sounds like the box to me, but I'm not a mechanic so hopefully someone else can give you some better input.

Have you checked the fluid level in the transmission? That sort of thing can happen if there isn't enough transmission fluid.

Check your plugs n leads as well. My vx acclaim would hesitate like a misfire and then get a massive clunk and then launch.

Had holden over the car, they serviced the box, diffs etc and then found it was a lead that was failing.
