My VX Clubsport has the Performance HSV Touring suspension option rather than regular HSV Clubsport springs. These are not the common FE2 sports suspension used by the Holden range.

But the D-side rear spring has sagged a little, but the lean on level ground appears many times worse than it actually is. I want to find what the equivalent replacement springs might be, height, rate, whatever.

Otherwise, there's also the option of swapping them over from side to side but rather not knowing one is already sitting lower and both are 20yrs old.

Anyone know the HSV rate specs or a good replacement? It already has the rubber insulator pads or that could have been used to pack it up on obe side as a stop-gap fix. Thanks

The document below may be of help to you. It contains part numbers but no specifications such as spring rates etc.

I had some Kings installed to replace my stock FE2 on my old VXII Clubsport the spring rate felt similar, another big big difference in ride is all the other bits of the suspension AND the engine mounts. these are oil filled from memory and would be pretty sad by now in most cars this age.

I'd recommend a good suspension specialist like Fulcrum to help you get it sorted, not the local mechanic!

Good info, thanks. Will check it out when home. Noticed the rear Performance springs use the Sports option part numbers so may be common part. Mine still have labels, will have to see if any are readable. Was told by Holden and suspension guys that the Holden FE2 and HSV suspension, while similar, were not the same. Ignoring the tiny lean, I didn't want to swap out some springs that gave it an unusual ride height or handling to now, including cost unless comparable. An extra thick insulating rubber may be a quick fix also until a more permanent solution.

you may find the shocks have just as much if not more to do with your ride height.

As it turns out I have photos of the rear springs and the tags are clearly visible with part number 92048210. That is the number for FE2 rear spring so maybe that is the standard for HSV and the Performance/GTS level was something again. So you keep learning. I assumed it was FE2, then get told no HSV has it's own ratings, now back to half/half! Much easier to replace the rears now that they are a more common part. thanks!

Nolathane sell the bigger (higher) solid spring insulator, from memory 10mm higher is a good quick fix and yeah the shocks do help.

Thanks, will check out.

If your thinking of replacing the springs, King springs in the low series (not the ultra low) are close enough to FE2 specs at approx 20-30mm lower than standard. I have used them before with standard monroe gt sports reflex shocks, good for handling and steering but too harsh on ride comfort, probably best with another softer brand.
