I believe a problem with the pump will cause it blow out the tube. The same issue came up a while back and IIRC the pump was the issue.
Very, Very interesting. So what would happen to the pump as I have never seen a pump on any auto, "eg" gears stripped, shaft broken or other. Once again good info for me so what is the "The same issue came up a while back and IIRC the pump was the issue".

What gets me that the pan is very clean, no metal, no nothing except clean oil without not one foreigh object in there. the oil smells good too.

The car was warm and level when checking the fluid level? Run it through the gears a few times and check the level again, it may have air in the cooling lines so it's not building fluid pressure. Or the level isn't correct.

Worse case, running it the way it was could have damaged the trans and it needs rebuilding or replacing.

All done ok its easy compared what I had to do on my WN Caprice with no dip stick. Anyhow the car is booked to go to a automatic service mob as I think it slipping in first and reverse. Wont try on other gears.

Just a update. I drove the car up our driveway yesterday it seem like it has a 2500 RPM stall converter like used on most drag street cars. Any how the car has been book on the 14/12/2020 to visit the specialist

The VX went to a auto Specialist like I said and the man there had a look at it why this car seems to slip in first gear or reverse and he found it was low in OIL. Yes low in Oil as it needed 4 ltrs more oil and after this it was ok and the car drove perfectly. WHAT 4 lts MORE OIL!!!!!!!.
The car had no drive and oil was spewing from the filler tube to in front + 1 metre in front of the car, God know how much oil was lost, Sh.t After I replaced the Filter and Oil where I emptied the oil originally because the filter and oil seal was floating in the bottom of the pan due to a poor fitting by one mechanic I added 4 Ltrs but the car needed more so I gave it and checked it and and cold the lever was ok and when it was warm to hot the level came up and it still had limited drive so I dot not push the car and had the car taken to the Auto mob to see what counbe the issue but when the car arrive there the Auto man started the car , Check the Oil and it was bone dry and needed 4 ltr o.f oil. Once Again WHAT 4 ltr of oil? Now considering I added around 4.5 ltrs in it and the Auto Service place added 4 ltrs now that 8.5 ltrs of oil to get it going.
Tell me guys where did this extra 4 ltrs of oil went to? did the Converter had any oil in it, Somewhere must have had plenty of air in it to take that extra 4 ltr of oil.
Remember this issue was Caused buy the incorrect fitting of the Oil seal that after I turn the Engine off and I had auto trans dipstick out the oil would spew out about 3 mtrs.
Now I asked the man at the auto specialist about the filter and seal floating in the bottom of the pan and the way the car behaved regarding the spewing of oil out like a garden hose and he said THAT IS NORMAL TO DO THIS seen this before when the Seal has not been fitted correctly.

because the filter had dropped down
the pump would have been sucking air and has probably pumped air and filled the torque converter and trans cooler with air

The SCUM high profile Service mob must have know this and this is THE REASON WHY THE CAR WAS OVERFILLED 5 inch about the FULL mark so when the you drive the car oil will be suck via the hole not the filter and if you lose transmission fluid like it (turn the Engine of with the dip stick out and oil spewed 3 mtrs in from of the car) I did or remove the oil like I did to be the correct level the auto will be sucking up air and not filtered oil.

My sons girlfriend has a 2002 VX series 2 Equipe with a M30 Gearbox and the last day or so it has been spewing oil out of the dipstick from the gearbox. Yes this gearbox could be suspect because it was serviced by someone else (not me) and possibly been overfilled. Now i would like to ask a question for the guys that have worked with automatic gearboxes before mainly on Holdens. What would cause when you turn the engine off and the auto dipstick is out sitting on the windscreen and oil fires out to a point it goes out the front of the car. i have never seen anything like this before in my life.

Possible loss of about 500ml to 1 litre of fluid has come out on the front of the car and on the floor. Now i know about the breather tube and being blocked but what other mechanical part of the gearbox can cause this?

by the way, i think the car has lost drive and reverse. maybe because it lost too much oil.
The early 4l60e gearbox's had a shallow pan and heat issue cause oil to come out of the filler not every gearbox did this as some r still running today I actually had this problem I replaced my gearbox in my vy and I got a vx 4l60e I didn't know about the pan so I got ripped off by gear box for a vx I didn't know but I know now after about a year started to pump oil out of the filler not all the time but when they made the vy they put a deep pan and a lock on the dip stick so holden new about this problem hope this helps
