I rang the Repco bitch and she’s telling me it isn’t a 3.8 aha i need diff oil and she’s say it only takes a specific one and cost 75 bucks for 2.5 litres surley there is another one to run in it not as expensive?

Stock 3.8 doesn't have an M80. They just go by what's on the screen in front of them as typically 99% of the population doesn't swap out parts. If you're sure it's an M80, just plug a VX SS into Penrite's site and it will tell you what to buy. Will be a different oil if it's an LSD.

And it might not be m80 than i know abit about cars and stuff just **** all about commodore that’s what i was told was in it aha

If it's a thrash mobile 80W-90 will be more than fine.

I run the same stuff in our VX with Truetrac/3.73 gears.

General rule of thumb is that if you haven't changed a part yourself, then it's stock. If you haven't changed that diff yourself then almost guaranteed it will be an M78/M75.
