Yo. first time here. I've has a look around and thought i would share my idea for a Fuel Cap Cover Electric Release.

This is on a 2000 VX Berlina 3.8Eco btw.

Im thinking about putting a solornoid (Was thinking a boot release one would suffice) and wireing it to a push button in the centre console as i don't use the space.

Im doing some other minor electrical stuff to my car over the new year and was just looking for your opinions. I have the ability to make this look semi-factory if i was to put the release button in the glove compartment as i can get a 2nd boot release factory button from Holden.

I have a circut diagram in my head. Will share it later today when i get to TAFE and can use a scanner.

Im quite a large person and the cable release is a bit of a effort for me to reach. If i was to have a button it would make life oh so much simpler.

the fuel cap is just plastic and i wonder if putting it on a solenoid and under spring pressure would make it weaker

    they are already weak enough!

Im not worried about putting a spring on it. just so it pops out as per factory.
