how do I get the spring loaded bits and pieces section below radio out... spring ok but door will not clip in closed position
Open the door and on the left side hinge, there is a small pin. Slide the pin out and gently pull the door out vertically. The locking mechanism, on the right side, is part of the door and will come off with the door. You might just have to jiggle it a bit, but it will come out quite easily. You can buy just the door piece from holden.
Hmmmmm.....sounds like you will have to take the whole compartment out. You are talking about the compartment where the ash tray would go.....right? If so that means taking of the centre console surround. For that there are two screws right under and at the back of the compartment. Un do them and lift off the console. Be carefull not to damage any of the console's retaining clips There will be two screws either side of the compartment holding it in. Un screw the two screws and the compartment will slide out.
