Has anyone measured how much difference driving style makes to the VX V6's fuel consumption?

Eg.
Aggressive driving: City: L/100km Freeway:_ Suburban:_
Economy driving: City:_ Freeway:_ Suburban:_

the fuel consumption of large V6s has been critised lately.

I have a suspicion that when driven economically, the vx will get similar results to some 4 cylender Cars.

According to the VS forum people are getting around 9-10L/100km on average. Can the VX match it despite the extra weight?

Sitting on 110 gets me approx 9.5-10lt/100km, that's with winding hills and flat road driving. Do a search though as this has been covered a few times.

On a 400km highway trip that I regularly do, I sit on around 8.0-8.5L/100km.

Around the city I run anywhere between 11L/100km and 13.5L/100km. Driving smoothly.

My car usually sits on around 11L/100km including highway and city driving.

My VT on a 400km trip i easily get 600km. Sometimes anything up to 800km.

In city driving I'm currently getting 500km to a tank.

last year the herald sun tested a VY exec.

The tests were carried out by the same driver, same route, same time of day(next day),same petrol pump. It was a mix of city, suburban, country driving around melbourne.

Aggressive driving: 12.6L/100km
Economy driving: 7.8L/100km

By driving aggressively he saved 5 minutes over about 200km compared to economical.

This quite a surprising result. better than a lot of 4 cylenders.

Does anyone record their fuel consumption every week?

yeah i did with my vt v6 when i had it and was testing of before and after magnoflow *cough* shite *cough*

got between 13-14.5L/100km round town (peak hour and weekend)
got between 10-11.5L/100km country

but then again the feul system, compression, etc was greatly improved in the VX and therefore better figures

my vu will get about:

highway driving: 700km out of a tank so about 10l/100km
city driving: 500km out of a tank so about 14l/100km :ranting:

which if pretty poor, but i have a manual and i tend to accelerate pretty hard sometimes and 5th gear isn't very low ratio, wen driving at 110 im sitting on 3k rpm, autos are alot less than that.

cheers

Um thats a bit weird. My vx is a manual. Mine sits on about 2400rpm at 110kmph. Any thoughts on why that would be?
