When I changed the filter black petrol came out the tank side and clear petrol came out the engine side. I found a date printed on the filter: 2014. I figured it was a manufactured date.

I'll change it again in 50,000kms

Every 40,000kms? My manual states 48,000 or 24 months.

Its a Haynes Repair Manual, covers models: VT, VTII, VX, VXII, VY,VYII, VZ and VZII Printed 2008 page 1-18.
So not a free manual.

48k km is around 30k miles
Maybe the manufacturer stated 30k miles and we got the close enough conversion of 48k km

In other news, I decided I am to old and lazy to change the fuel pump in my VX, I'm just dropping cash and getting a high flow installed when the car goes in for some tuning and stuff

As for oil change intervals for LS1, which is 3k miles, or around 5k km

I'm a bit the same way. Except I have so many jobs I want to do on the ute I have to decide which jobs I feel like doing and which ones are just easier to hand over the cash. Tank out is an annoying job but it's something I'd probably do myself again if I had to. I have to do some of the **** jobs myself or I'd be forever forking out money....... Hmmmmm, wait a minute, I already am forever forking out money..... hahahaha
