vx gear knob surround removal

    hello,i need to remove the gear knob so i can replace the surround with a wood grain one ,anyone got step by step instructions please.
    i know theres a screw on the gear knob but it still doesn't budge and i don't want to break anything.
    also does anyone know what the boot lid carpet retaining clips look like,thanks heaps,karen.

    forget to say it's an automatic gear knob
