VX ignition key trouble

Hi Group! I've replaced the damaged button housing (2 buttons) on my VX 2002 SW. The Lock/Unlock buttons work fine opening and closing the doors, but the car wouldn't start, unless I pressed the Lock or Unlock key, while the ignition is On. Checked the key reader to contact ring connection - OK. The circuit board in the keyhead has good contact to the key. Using my spare key, everything works fine, as it should. Any idea as to the cause of this would be appreciated.

Worn metal part of key? Compare it with your spare.

Sometimes the slip ring can go too far back and it doesn’t connect the key properly.
