VX II V6 on LPG idles ruff gas.

I've just brought the wife a VX II V6 auto on LPG it idles really ruff on gas but fine on petrol, it will stall when back out of the drive way but once warm it will just idle ruff.
It also struggles to rev past 4000rpm when under load like over taking.
It also has a really strong gas smell while idling.
Any ideas where I should start?

needs to be tuned, if there's a problem with the gas system it will be found during this process easily.

Driving the car today and thought if give it a bit in petrol to see how it goes at high revs and it's pinging really bad above 4000rpm, any ideas what could be causing that?

How many klms on the motor ? I have the same issue when backing out but my car never stalls after I get going it idles fine on gas. As mentioned earlier I think a gas tune is your best bet should be less than $150 and they will pick up any problems you shouldn't really be able to smell the gas only from the tailpipe. If its pinging its head off after 4000 rpm most likely needs tuning try not to thrash it or drive hard under load especially if the car has high klms. Also is the lpg system factory or aftermarket. Its probably tuned to run on lpg so maybe the petrol tune isnt ideal. Where ar eu located I know a top lpg fitter in Nsw.

It's a one owner car before we got it so it has a genuine 230,000klm's and it's factory gas.
