VX wagon
I bought a 02 VX Executive wagon. Paid **** all and the things drive amazing. Has a lowish idle around 600RPM. Its a VX but the dash and dash cluster is VY so has been partially upgraded.. Since I purchased it have had constant issues with the check engine light and this has slowly progressed.

Originally it was check engine and SRS Airbag - Replaced the clock spring and cleared the faults the SRS air bag went but check engine stayed. When we did that we had to rewire the horn and disconnect the original one as it was earthing out and blowing the fuse every time. Now check engine comes and goes as it pleases but the car also does the following - traction control comes up sayings its off, says service error contact retailer, SRS airbag. Now we can make that go away by pressing our electric windows, pressing any button really. The dash also flashes constantly so the odometer (now this is a VY dash cluster) flashes - we replaced the ABS module and this flashing stopped but in under a week it was flashing again....

The issues don't end there. There is a hose that runs from the charcoal canister up to the side of the fuel inlet (where u put fuel in) and connects to a clip. This is meant to be just a vapour line but ours is somehow leaking actual fuel not a huge amount but enough to be of concern - when we bought the car this hose was broken and old and we actually replaced it after loosing an entire tank of fuel onto the ground.

We are at a loss as to what to do next we have replaced

- spark plugs
- air filter
- oil filter and oil
- clock spring
- abs module
- fuel filter
and tomorrow we are dropping the tank to check all fuel lines and replace the charcoal canister.

We have just purchased a cable and software (its in the post) so that we can read the codes off the car. But please if you've got any ideas or insight please please let me know!!!

the ABS has to be from a VY to match the cluster and BCM, that's why you're getting Trac off as they are not interchangeable (VY and VX have different software)
the check engine light coming on off is might be from an air leak

the fuel leak i would check the lines from the tank

How do i find out if they’ve upgraded the abs or not?

Do you know the code difference for the bcm so I can check that it’s been upgraded to a Vy?

It’s definetly a VX abs module

The ABS module is not depended on the BCM but what drive train you have

The VY comes standard with TC so if your VX is 6cyl with TC then you need 0273 004 589

you may also need to replace the air bag sensor under the centre console and have the cluster +BCM programmed with a tech2
