I’m just wondering how to tell what series VX Berlina I have, as I can’t find a definitive answer online. I want to upgrade the exhaust to a Catback with hotdogs and from what I can find online the series 1 only has one cat near the floor pan and the series 2 has two cats.? All the Catback pipes I can find are Spector series 1 VX’s.
It has vertical grill slats at the front and Square indicator/wiper stalks (this is the only info I can find about series one and two)

I know it was made in 2001

August 2001 onwards is VX series 2.
How would I know exactly what month my VX Commodore is from?
also was there any difference between the series 1 and 2 exhausts?

Holden VT/VX Service Manual doesn't show any differences between Series I and Series II for the standard V6. However, the supercharged V6s have had twin cat exhausts since the VT.

Thank You both for the prompt replies! I will check under the hood ASAP for what month it is so I can finally know!

the label for the Catback with hotdogs Im getting says “ VT, VX and VY series 1 V6 sedans, so I’m not sure if that means any VT, VX and only series 1 VY’s because I’m sure series 2 VY’s did have a different exhaust system.

It means any VT, any VX and VY series 1.

VY Series 2 have a different exhaust due to emissions requirements.

What colour is the small indicator on the side of the front guard?
Orange = series 1
Clear = series 2

also, series 2 has reflectors in the rear bumper.

Your exhaust system should look like the V6 (unsupercharged) diagram below:
