Hi all. Urgent help needed.
I have had some upgrades done to my car
New cam 232/232 110
Tce hi stall converter
Otr
Diff gears
Trans cooler.
The car made 275.4 rwkw. (Super stoked) :)
Problem is I gave it a squirt on my way home tonight roughly upto 90km/h and the car stalled at speed. Steering went, all the lights came on and the car is refusing to run.
I turn the key and and it starts for maybe 1 second then dies. Racv came and was stumped.
Surely I havent broken it already have I ?
Car was dyno'd just wednesday and has been running great until.
Anybody please help

Could be an immobiliser problem, is the security light flashing when you try to start it? When I had a problem with my immobiliser it would start for about a second and stall.

How many keys do you have hanging off your key ring? It could be the contact ring on the ignition not making contact with the key. Try bending it out a bit.

Certainly does sound like anti theft on an ls1 if there's no other symptoms and all checks out, apart from the suggestions above (memory is failing me on this one) will shorting the pins on the dlc enable fault code readout with the cel flashing when it's an lsx pcm?)

You can't read the codes that way on an LS1.

Thanks for clarifying, never actually tried.

Well then it's find someone with a tech 2 or a cheap elm to see what's going on then to pull some fault codes.

The racv checked the codes and nothing came up. I tried to start it and the security light was flashing. Then if its not already enough the battery went flat. If it is the imobilizer is it a big job to fix? After all tje cash for the upgrades my.pockets are empty :(

If it is the immobiliser then it means getting a new BCM but as mentioned earlier, make sure the metal knob on the key is making contact with the metal ring around the ignition.

then the racv didn't check well enough, theft deterrent signal missing is the code that should be screaming out loud (although this is a common code to be thrown and have multiple times logged on a normal working vehicle so they may have just shrugged it off)
