Can anyone please tell me the process of replacing the front and rear main oil seals on a VX ss 5.7, if I want to have a go myslef.

If a mechanic does it roughly how much am I looking at cost wise.

If someone could direct me to some links that would be great.
Thanks

Front seal is easy enough to do yourself, just a matter of removing the harmonic balancer but the rear is a big job, the transmission needs to come out.

The rear is a pain.. Either the box or motor has to come out

It may also be the rear of the sump seal if its leaking from between the motor and bellhousing. I got mine done for $550 as the K frame has to be dropped or the motor has to come out.

rear main can run up to $1000 at a mechanic easily.
