Hey Guys, got a chance to pick up a written off VXII SS pretty cheap (Paint stripper to front end and kicked in rear quarter). I'm not fussed about the body work, as i am capable of getting that fixed myself.

Only thing is, engine is out of the car at the moment, as it was stripped of the manual box, drive shaft and diff. Looms, pedal box etc are still in the car.

Car comes supplied with a Auto BCM, auto pedal box, Auto trans and looms. Would it be much hassle, considering the manual is already out and stripped, to swap in the auto box?

All i need to source out is an auto drive shaft, and a diff (i've actually already got one, so im set there!)

And, if it is too much hassle to do it at home, How much would a mechanic charge to fit an auto + engine into a car if i just get it towed there?

    Cheers guys!

Mechanics charge by the hour for labour so you just have to find out how many hours it would take them roughly. don't go to a franchise mechanic like ultratune find someone reputable in your area. If you're in the nthn suburbs I can recommend a couple of shops who are very good with commodores.

Yeap, I'm in the northern suburbs. Apparently there are some hard lines or something to do with manuals? No idea... I'm even thinking of just buying a manual box and slapping that in...
