vx ss tail shaft

i have a vx ss 6 speed i think the tail shaft is abit worn i was looking on hardy spicer
web site it say that cant be repaired only replace is this right any info would be great

From what I've been told by my mechanic and word of mouth that's correct. They are designed
as a throw away piece, when they wear the only way to fix it is to chuck it out and start again.

yeah but they made one for vt gen3 prob cost like 1200 bucks for the vx tail shaft

Any one else have any info on the tail shaft? and how much it cost to be replaced

The center joint in an original driveshaft for VX is a staked joint, which means it cannot be replaced.

Hardy Spicer can make you a new shaft with a replaceable joint in the center so in the future you can change it with no hassles.

I would expect to pay around $8-900 for a new shaft including balancing

Hey mate, what are they actually doin? Are they just replacing the centre bearing or the whole shaft???

just replacing the centre bearing and balancing the tail shaft

Yeah mate got it all done today mate so much better the uni's they can do 8out of ten so it can be done if your lucky mate
