We have a VX Acclain sedan with 200,00 klms and its a beaut, 8 months ago when about a klm from home it just stalled and wouldn't fire which turned out to be a faulty coil.
The workshop replaced the one coil and all was well again, now last week I drove 800 klms on the highway with 3 dog stops when we reached the city the car just stalled at the lights, not a good feeling.
Good news is it fired up and continued to stall a couple of more times so before heading home again I put a bottle of the injector cleaner in the tank and not another stall. Now 2 weeks latter the car stalled again 3 times tonight but luckily fired up again when shifted into N and the short trip home wasn't good cause I was so scared it would stall on the 500 meter long bridge going into town.

Can I purchase 2 new coils and replace them myself and how long should the injectors last?

Yes, you can just replace the other 2 coils yourself. Theres 2 small bolts that hold them onto the DFI module. A lot of the cheaper coils dont work as well and dont last as long either, so try to only use genuine holden coils if you can afford them..

Check Ebay and also Holmart .I think that coils are about $90 each from your local dealer but you can buy a genuine coil pack(3 coils and the DFI module) off ebay, from Holmart on line $285 I think,or from Bursons ( I think they may have a store up your way) $365.Your Holden dealer won,t sell them as a pack so if you buy 3 coils and a DFI it will total over $600,yet all these other places will supply Genuine parts as a pack for $365 or less.Amazing. I just checked on line and the closest Bursons stores to you are Brisbane or Townsville. If you're interested my local store's Capalaba (Brisbane) 07.32452522. They're the most expensive of the options I've listed but at least you should be able to order over the phone if your not keen on ebay or Holmart on line. I personally would be replacing the coil pack, plugs and leads and I'd be using all genuine parts.

Thanks Guys, the leads and the plugs have been replaced 6 months ago so I'll purchase a 3 pack and the DFI unit. I'll give the Emerald Auto Pro and Repco a go first, looks like I'll be riding the bike until I get this all sorted.

The key word here is "Genuine"

Yep, I purchase new coils, new leads and the DFI unit from the Holden place and it now purrs. Before this problem it had a ever so slight miss when sitting at the lights and now its so smooth.

Glad it's all sorted and thanks for posting the result.Too often members will have a problem, get heaps of input from other members who are trying to help but then don't seem to think that it's just as important (and well mannered) to post a final outcome.
