Vx v6

Hey everyone having a problem with my vx v6 I go to start it but only the dash lights come on no cranking or anything when turn the key I have checked the starter motor the battery fuses and relays there all good any ideas would be great as stuck in the shopping centre car park haha

Battery krapped itself
Dirty terminals
Shifter not in park correctly
Crook auto lock out switch
Crook starter motor
Could be as simple as a loose/burnt wire
etc etc

Yeah it's in park new battery starter motor checked all the wires around it as well

Try cleaning the contact ring around the ignition. Move the shifter to Neutral.

Does the factory alarm red light stop flashing when you unlock the car with the key remote?

When you turn the ignition to the ON position can you hear the fuel pump prime?

Yeah you can hear the fuel pump and yeah I have cleaned it incase it was dirty or dust and the red light goes out when u unlock it off the key as well

Have you checked the neutral safety switch?

i have the mechanics at work tell me they have checked everything and it is ok
what they mean is they had a look and the starter motor is still bolted to the engine,
what voltage do you have at the starter motor solenoid when attempting to crank

That rules out the immobilizer, next I too would be looking at the neutral safety switch. try moving it between gears and leave it in neutral and try starting the car.

yeah moved it to n and still doesn't crank or wine over

Sounds like battery as these take alot of amps to crank...been few days since you ran it????and a short run to a turn off????,



or terminals, try contact cleaner...or very unlikely the tiny wite off the alternator(alternator exciter)if it is cut or not connecting, starter wont turn if alternator isnt "off"
