Did you change the BCM or ECU?
Does the flashing red security light turn off when you try to start it?

Refit the original ECU and BCM to the car.
The ECU and BCM from the other VX need to be linked or it will not start.

V6 doesn't have a PIM (LSx only), however, you are correct that the ECU and BCM have to be linked together to function and start the car.

1.2 POWERTRAIN INTERFACE MODULE (PIM)
The Powertrain Interface Module (PIM), is located at the left ’A’ pillar behind the kick panel. The PIM acts as a communication translator between the
PCM and other onboard controllers that use a different serial data protocol. The GEN III PCM uses the new Class II serial data to communicate, while other controllers on the vehicle are designed to transmit serial data via the conventional Universal Asynchronous Receive Transmit (UART) protocol. Since these two types of serial data are not compatible, a translator or PIM is required to transmit data in either direction between the PCM and other controllers. The PIM will interpret the serial data information and translate UART to Class II or Class II to UART to support the appropriate vehicle controller operation. The PIM is the serial data communication translator for vehicle operations. It interprets and supplies the following information in the proper direction for operation of:
• A/C Request.
• Check Powertrain Lamp (CPL).
• Starter Motor Control.
• Theft Deterrent (Starter Motor Control).
• Oil Warning Lamp.
• Power/Economy Lamp.
• Low Coolant Lamp.
• Gear Indicator Lamps.
• Cooling Fan Relay (Low Speed).

Yes it should, providing there aren't other issues.

Im an absolute beginner with everything mechanical. I had a similar problem with mine on the weekend. Probably totally unrelated.
I removed the engine casing to access the thermostat. When i put the casing back on, it must have been on too tight and cutting off a supply line.
The car would start, sound like it would run, then die out.
I Loosened the bolts and off she went.

Ok guys zanlomas is my lil bro and the vx is still giving me grief. I went to my local wreckers and got me a ecu bcm and key head. From a identical vx that they drove into the wreckers. Got them for $165. Cheapest i could find. Thinking great go home fit them and problem fixed. But NO same as before turns over goes to fire up but nothing.
Changed injectors. Got fuel.
Ive changed coil pack. Checked spark. Is good
Ive checked all fuses and relays all look good.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

how did you determine you have fuel?
how did you confirm you have spark?
was the motor you fitted known running
did this car ever run since you have had it
are there any other symptoms in the car that you have not thought about ie serv error or x in dash display or indicators dont work etc
