VY 02 Sensor

Hi,

I will be changing my 02 sensors.

I have a VY SS Series1 with aftermarket Extractors/Cats. I am just wondering, am I going to need to get extensions?

I did a google search and didn't find out.

No you won't. The series 2 you do, but not the series 1.

Oh really I thought it depended on the actual type of extractors eg tri-y's no, 4-1's yes.

Not really. The O2 sensor wiring is in a different spot on the series 1's so they will reach. They changed them on the series 2 so you will need to extend them.

But having said that, if the car already has the extractors, any extending would already have been done, so there would be no need to get extensions anyway. Unless the O2 wiring harness has been cut and extended on the sensor side of the plug.

I brought the Extractors second hand off my mate who had them on a Series 2 SS, I got it complete with the sensors but there were no extensions on it and it fitted.

If your car is a series 1, it won't need them.
