Hey everyone

Just purchased a VY Calais 03

She has a bit of a vibration when accelerating between 20-40kms

The vibration is more pronounced the harder you accelerate betweens those speeds

Just had new tires fired and a wheel alignment and balance done today

The issue still persists

I've checked the transmission mount its still in good condition

But these engine mounts do no look to healthy

My old man said they look fine but he is nearly 70 now and I'm pretty sure this proves his eyes are getting bad haha

Any advice would be really appreciated,

First decent car I've owned and I plan to get it mechanically A1 and put some work into it

Thank you

Vibration under acceleration could be tailshaft/centre bearing/ rear gearbox mount/rear suspension bushes.
And don't knock your old man. I'm 72 next month.
He has probably forgotton more than you will ever know.;).

Agree with above the first thing to check is for cracks in the rubber bearing mount. If it is this, don't wait or you will trash the shaft.

Alright I'll check that out after work today and have a little google on its location

Guessing it's just mounted around the tail shaft

So I check the tailshaft mount bearing
It is basically new, must not have been replaced to long ago

You guys think engine mount could be the problem?

Check your pinion angles if they are out due to sagged trans mount you can get vibes.

Alright I'll figure out what pinion angles are

I looked at the trans mount and the crossmember for the mount looked ok but I'll give it another look

Forget what I said to some extent, it shouldn't matter. You will have a centre mount that will keep the pinion angle ok anyway unless the car is lowered.

There has been a few cases over the years where people have had the TS out of balance.
