VY 3.8 engine compatability

    I brought a 2004 VY II wagon a few months back and it turns out its an oil burner, I'm going through about a litre per 1000km's

    I'm looking at picking up a secondhand engine for it, what other models are the same as the vehicle I've got so I can do a straight engine swap without running into problems with sensors and things not being the same or fitting properly?

    any help is appreciated

    get the engine from a vy and you shouldnt have any issues... i dont belive there is any difference between series 1 and 2
