Hey people
Just bought a VY auto.
Had been running great..until.
While driving along it chugged a little and then stalled.
Started it up and continued driving it fine. Thought it was (hoping) a one off.

Did it again.
Opened bonnet, battery fine.
No water leaking
Coolant full.
Hose from raditor to head, hot as hell.
No 'white' in oil cap.
Starts up fine again.
Temp gauge inside car sits on half.
Sometimes it takes a few seconds for engine to turn over, not sure if related.
Check engine light appeared once, that is all.
Missus is pregnant with twins need my car to be reliable!!
Please help.
Have car booked in on Monday but was hoping to save some $$$ and this forum is the place to go!!
Thanks for reading guys

Well your CAS crank angle sensor might be dying. When it stalls pour cold water on it behind the harmonic balancer which is the biggest pulley at the bottom middle. The cas is behind it on passenger side

Else might need a new dfi plate my old vs did this. If u can find a gumtree second hander to test with

If your good with tools that is

Thanks for the advice.
Starting to think it might be fuel pump. Drove it today started and drove well no dramas.
Went out for a surf came back and it wouldn't start.
I tried a number of times and drained the battery (although there was plenty of power on it to start it).
I then gave the fuel tank a good knock and jump started it fine.
So not sure what's going on ????

How long did u take to restart it

A dying fuel pump will be getting noiser

I recently had stall issue (would stall after a few minutes of driving). After restart it was fine. Plugged in a tech2 and looked at the stall data to find when it stalled, the temp sensor logged -40°C.
Replaced the sensor and it's been fine
