My daughter's 04 VY2 Calais' standard rims are a bit shabby looking.

Does anybody know if there is a paint code for them or a very close match so I can freshen them up? Its a good solid car just seen a bit too much sun I think.

Thanks in advance

No l don't, but l was advised that the trim code includes some additional features like side skirt p/c etc. Maybee call Holden.

I don't think you will be able to replicate the sparkly metallic finish with a rattle can, but "Quicksilver" or "Lightning Strike" is close.
Don't use a rattle can clear coat over the paint, spray-on wheel cleaners will discolour or dissolve it.

gohrdorgomad - Interesting. I've called a paint shop then Holden and finally ROH (who supplied them until 04) with no result. It was originally a "wet powdwer coating" process which sounds odd in itself. According to ROH they stopped supplying GMH after VY2 and rims came from China after that..

I'll try your idea figjam and try to get close to the centre cap as the body of the rim is discoloured.

Cheers guys.

As far as I know the wheels came from Taiwan, not China after had ROH stopped manufacturing wheels for Holden
The company/manufacturer was named Enkei

That result looks smick. I might have to re-do mine with it.
How does the clear coat stand up to using a spray-on wheel cleaner ?
I don’t actually use a wheel cleaner - I clean my wheels by hand but I suspect it would be fine as long as you use the non acidic stuff. Brake dust doesn’t seem to be an issue for me (using qfm pads).

It is not just the brake dust, I have the same Calais rims, and seem to get all sorts of crud on my wheels that is hard to remove.
Driving past the Newcastle coal loader on a wet road is a good example.
Anyhow, I will try some of your paint and see how it goes.
Thanks.
