    Hi all,
I have a 03 VY11 SS auto sedan and would like to put a instrumenter cluster in it with the 3 windows. Which would be best? i was thinking Calais but then someone mentioned HSV to me. Do i need to make sure that it also comes from a V8?

The only critical factor is S1 or S2 - every thing else should be OK

If you mix the series up the fuel gauge fails to work correctly.

There have been a number of threads on this.

As advised above, best to make sure that you get a cluster from the same series as yours. Otherwise the fuel guage will work in reverse, and the DTE will be useless.

This is fixable by changing the fuel sender unit (expensive), and apparently by programming (not Tech 2).

If the replacement cluster has less than 100 Km on it, the odometer can be set by Tech 2 to the correct (read legal) setting for your car. If not, this can be resolved at some expense by programming again.

There are a number of cluster options, the HSV being an obvious one.

I think this is a worthwhile mod, having done it to a VS II, a VY II and lately a VE II. I missed out doing it to my first VE due various scares about problems. I have always used Calais clusters as they have been better priced. I actually have a VY II Crewman cluster (260 KPH) in the shed with low Km.

Hi What about a vehicle with Factory LPG, do you need special programming to fit a non LPG Cluster into the vehicle
