Vy crewman ss

I have just bought a vy ss crewman. The hard lid didnt come with struts. I bought a set for the exact model but when they are completely closed the lid is still open 300mm. I just dont understand. Any advise.

Closed 330mm, extended 520mm. That is for genuine struts with Holden lid.
Is yours aftermarket with different mounting points ?

It's a genuine stamped holden lid. Yes they are 520mm extended

Do you have the mounting brackets in the correct position on the side of the tub.?
Edit ...785mm inside, from front.

The only place to screw in the ball screw above wheel arch.

I’m doing some crystal ball gazing here, and using my genuine lid as reference..
Have you unscrewed a Torx screw from the tub rail and inserted a screw-in ball ? If so, that is probably why it is stopping short, the struts are too long.
Mine …….the ball mounting bracket is on the side of rail, held by 2 self-tappers which will require drilling holes, so that the ball is 60mm from the top of the rail, 120mm rear of that Torx screw.

No, sorry, I am not that technically adept. But this is the bit you will need, and placed on the tub rail in the position that I described.
