    25th Anniversary VY II
    Hi All,

I have seen a few threads about changing over the dash cluster however I has a question about compatibility.
If I put in a new triple window dash to replace my single window will it be a simple matter of getting the new one recalibrated or is new wiring involved? Also, would any VY series 2 Calais dash fit on my car or are there different 'versions' within the VY II range?

I have a VY II 25th Anniversary Auto Wagon.
Sorry if I'm asking something that has already been asked elsewhere

I have now changed to three window clusters on a VS II, a VY II, an MY11 SV6 and an MY12.5 SV6. Only ones to miss out have been my MY09 SV6 (not sure it would work) and my current MY14 VF SV6 (there is no three window option).

The VY II was the most simple. No wiring, just a programming of the cluster by Tech2, though other sources are also available. If the cluster is used (i.e. over 100 km), only instrument experts" can reset the odometer."

The big catch is there is a compatibility issue between Series I and II. I am assured that it can be solved by programming, but it makes it simple if you get the right one to start with.

Sometimes it can be, sometimes not.

Just get a Cluster from the same series and be sure it will work.

Anything starting with "H" in the part number is series I cluster. "J" is for series I.

For a variation Holden also had a 3rd series of clusters for the VY with 3 letter prefixes. Not sure what the issue was but I'm thinking it may have been for different fuel pumps or something along those lines and they dont work in a series II car.
