Yeah it's been done. It will however require lots of money and time. Not to mention it looks like crap most of the time cause people do it half arsed.

vy vz dash into vt vx

hi guys....
i have been reading many posts regarding a dash conversion from a vt/vx to vy/vz.
first of all i want to make it clear to everyone it is a easy job.
the dash will bolt straight in without any mods.
the vy/vz lower dash mounting brackets must be used and are to replace the vt mounts.
console will also bolt straight in without any mods.
AC/heater controls are exactly the same in both models .
no need to swap wiring looms.
5 plugs need to be rewired. colours match and are easy to rewire .

headlight switch. (auto feature disabled)
mode switch
power window switch.
power / traction switch.

all the above switches are colour coded exactly from vt to vz.
just cut join and heat shrink for the best results.

hazard switch is a little tricky but easy figured out.

dash cluster remains vt but i am in the process of rewiring the cluster harness.

total cost for complete vy interior $280. this included all black trim including
door trims pillars kick panels dash and console.

any info required let me know. will post pics soon.

I Thought this was the case, as the doors are the same, and its the same body just a outside face change i thought and a few minor changes

Of course, same. I've got VZ Vents in my doors. You ask Holden people at their spare parts area and they will say no their different. Sure they might be as in colour but Holden did not change a thing. Same bolts clips etc.

Back to the VY dash conversion. It might sound a synch base to base. But try it moving up the model line. This i heard took one guy many weeks and twice the amount or wires over the VT-VX.

If you are talking about a Calais, Clubsport etc... with say climate control, traction etc, same deal.
Everthing can be swapped with ease. Both the traction harness and the climate control wiring harness are the same. You still need to remove plug and colour match the wires as Holden changed each pin on all harnesses.
As stated I have read so much on converting the interior of a VT to VY.
Alot of people just assume things and do not know what they are talking about.
Just thought to advise the simplicity if indeed interested in doing the job.
Moving up the model line can be difficult for some, if you can join a wire and you have the correct parts to install the interior, I do not see it taking more than a day or 2.

Hi have you got the info available for this conversion? I am considering giving it a go.
