    Hi all

    I had a problem start with my VY II a few months ago. It intermittently cuts out (not exactly a stall, just goes dead) while at idle, cruising or accelerating. Some days it'll run fine and other days it'll cut out 5 times in 5 minutes. I've got dual fuel with factory fitted lpg. The car will not start on petrol when cold (coughs and splutters) but then runs OK once warm (until it cuts out).

    When the car cuts out it won't start again on the fuel it was set to - I have to change from Petrol to LPG (or vice versa) and the car starts OK. If it then cuts out on that fuel I change it back and it starts OK again.

    I've had it to Holden who have:
    * Major service
    * Cleaned injectors
    * Replaced fuel tank pump
    (then on second visit)
    * Replaced ECU
    * Replaced o2 sensor (just 1 I believe)

    I have also recently replaced the radiator as the previous one blew out.

    The problem is still the same - engine cuts out when running on petrol or lpg.

    I've bought an Ellery's manual and was trying to read any error codes from the Data Link Connector (DLC) but it appears as though terminal 6 (Diagnostic test enable) doesn't exist on the VY II. Can anyone confirm this or advise if Holden have moved the diagnostic terminal elsewhere?

    I would appreciate any ideas. It's looking as though it'll have to go back to Holden but as they are so EXPENSIVE I'm trying to find a fault myself. (about to buy a multimeter and try checking coils, ht leads etc).

    Cheers
    Andrew

    sounds like the gas converter is freezing up which is preventing the flow of gas into the engine.
