just wondering if anyone knows if the lumina has an alarm and apparently there is a spec way to turn the alarms on or some**** apparently u press lock twice just wonderin if its true. thanks fellas
Yes you press lock twice within 10 seconds. The indicators with then light up and stay on for a few seconds. The car is now deadlocked and the alarm is activated. Cool thing about it is that if the alarm is tripped, when you next turn the ignition on, it will display in the cluster where on the car the alarm was triggered. (Doors, boot, bonnet etc etc. ) Does this on my SS but if you're not sure if the Lumina is the same, deadlock the car then pop the boot and it should go off.
just tried that it didnt work than i had a wonderful idea why not check the manual it said u can open the boot with out the alarm goin off maybe i should just shake the thing till i find out
pop your bonnet, close and lock your car then open the bonnet. scared the S*** outta me coz i found out by mistake!
thats what i thought but yeah maybe i should leave it open a bit longer it deff deadlocks well i think it does cause i press lock the second time and the indicaters and **** stay on for a couple of secs and than go off maybe i should leave the bonnet open longer
look for a bonnet pin under bonnet in the middle near the lever look for horn on pass side firewall if both present you have an alarm if not present you dont
Lock your car with the remote. Alarm should now be activated. Now open your door with the key without using the remote. Once your door is open the alarm should sound within a few seconds. Alarms were standard on the base models since the VX (not quite sure if series one or two). Anyway give it a go!
